Principal's Welcome
Welcome to St Kieran's Catholic School, Mount Isa, where students love learning.
As a school, St Kieran's has an inspiring spirit that I believe you can feel moment you set foot in our school grounds. Once you meet our beautiful students and staff, you will know exactly what I mean. There's a certain pride that comes with being part of the St Kieran's community.
Our community is a close one, one that is happy and engaged, where every student is valued. We work hard to make sure that is true.
We see each student as having unique gifts, which we encourage and celebrate. I believe this enriches our school and benefits all of us – children and adults.
A strong learning community involves parents, teachers, administration staff, church and community, working in partnership to help children of all Christian denominations and those finding faith for the first time. I believe that our students are most able to achieve their true potential when parents feel comfortable and are an active part of school life. I encourage you to get involved in our vibrant school community.
Our teaching staff here at St Kieran’s are excellent educators, collaborating with parents, and happy to share with you any aspects of what we are doing as well as how and why. We have a strong commitment to communication with parents, through newsletters and parent/teacher Information evenings.
Built on the traditions of our patron saint, St Kieran, and the charism of Edmund Rice, our school is enriched with a strong Catholic identity and mission which shapes how we care for each other and act every day.
I look forward to establishing a long and happy association with you as we work together to educate your child spiritually, academically, physically, socially and emotionally.
Please look around our new website and get in contact to arrange a tour so you can discover the St Kieran's pride.
